The person reflecting from the mirror,
with elongated face and drooping posture,
It can't be me, I am not that old,
Time to replace the old mirror, or am I getting old?
Asked my son, Am I getting old?
He replied, Dad you are not getting old, you are old.
May be I keep my mirror for antiquity sake.

A person with active mind and tired body,
Feel like a supernova void of all energy,
May be a red dwarf star hoping to disappear someday,
Still hope keeps me twinkling like a star with optimism in my life.

Running into an identity crisis, Am I an Indian or an American,
American call me Indian, Indians call me Non resident Indian,
My mind thinks like American, my heart beats like an Indian,
Caught between two cultures, sometimes I feel I am lost in the world.

A retired engineer, a tired old person,
the little daily chores of past seem like big tasks,
The children, grand children, are so close but far away,
The life long companions have come and gone on their own ways.

A stranger in the world on lonesome adventure,
Awake every morning with cheerful optimism,
Spend most of the day daydreaming of active life,
Only to drift in my tiny boat in vast ocean to unknown destinations .
